Metal Roof Claims

Living in Southwest Florida has its benefits with the beautiful tropical weather and the mild winters, however all Floridians know that if you are a property owner, the harsh storms, winds and hurricanes can wreak havoc to your property and metal roof.  If you feel that you have been treated unfairly for your metal roof claims that you have filed with your insurance company, I encourage you to contact my office and schedule an appointment for a free consultation to discuss your case.  Many times insurance companies may try to minimize metal roof claims by stating that the damages do not affect the roof’s function.  If this is happening to you, do not wait, contact The Freeman Law Firm, P.A. and let us represent you to help you receive what you may be legally entitled to.

Has your metal roof been damaged due to a windstorm, hurricane or fallen tree?

You may be legally entitled to a new roof.

Signs of Damage to Metal Roofs

Metal roofs are strong and durable, however they are not impervious to damage.  Aside from an obvious fallen tree, it is a good idea to inspect your roof for signs of damage after windstorms or hurricanes. Signs of damage to metal roofs include:

  • Tears, punctures or leaks
  • Rust or discoloration
  • Fasteners which have lifted
  • Loose nails
  • Hanging, missing or damaged flashing
  • Finish coming off of the panels
  • Cosmetic damages such as multiple dents

If you are experiencing any of these signs of damage to your metal roof, it is important to make sure that you and your family are safe.  Metal roofs can suffer damage from vibration that loosens the nails and weakens the panel at the contact points to the structure. These types or roof damages will cause leaks and other problems that do not show up right away.  Filing metal roof claims with your insurance company can be a confusing and difficult process.  Also, once claims are filed, some insurance companies may try and minimize the damages and underpay policy holders out of the proper compensation that they are entitled to.  Some insurance companies may even practice bad faith and claims may be seriously delayed or denied all together.

If you think bad faith may be a factor in the handling of your metal roof claim, then contact me for a review and assessment of your claim and a free consultation of your legal rights.
